Winter Harp 2026 Competition
In honour of the incredible group of harp teachers, students and young professionals we have in British Columbia, Winter Harp is excited to host another harp competition this year designed to create and share a beautiful performance of a gorgeous traditional carol. We hope many of you will enter!

Eligibility: Open to British Columbia residents.

Entry Fee: $10 (covers the sheet music and a small administrative fee).

Required Piece: I Wonder As I Wander, arranged by Winter Harp Artistic Director Lori Pappajohn.
Prizes & Performance Opportunity
Two overall winners will be selected: one from Vancouver Island and one from the BC mainland.

The Prize: Each winner will perform a carol on stage with Winter Harp at one of their upcoming holiday venues (either in the Lower Mainland, Victoria, or Duncan). Note: If a winner is unable to perform, a runner-up may be given the opportunity.
Judging & Criteria
While technical accuracy is expected, the judges, being mostly non-harpists, will place the strongest emphasis on musicality and artistic style.

Participants will receive feedback and adjudication-style comments from Winter Harp harpist Lani Krantz.

For fairness, the final judging and selection of winners will be conducted solely by the Winter Harp performing team, without consultation from Ms. Krantz.

Pay the Entry Fee: E-transfer $10 to lanakrantz@gmail.com.

Important: Include the same email address you used in the submission form in the e-transfer memo.

Receive Music: Once your entry and fee are processed, we will email you the official sheet music for Lori Pappajohn’s arrangement of "I Wonder As I Wander."

Film a video of your performance of I Wonder As I Wander. The video can be artistic, however the song must be played in one take, without slices.
